Enable New Zealand recognises International Day of Older Persons
Enable New Zealand recognises the International Day of Older Persons on Friday as significant, celebrating the contribution older people make to New Zealand.
Enable New Zealand is the largest provider of disability services in New Zealand, including equipment and housing modification services.
Enable New Zealand Operations Manager, Scott Ambridge said: “We pride ourselves on providing services so the elderly can remain in the community and leading full lives.”
“We support older people in several important ways. The equipment and housing modification services that we provide can give older people the help they need to remain independent. Through our Information Services we can provide information on the assistance that’s available for older people who have recently begun to experience the effects of ageing and need help with their day-to-day activities.”
“Our disability information site WEKA (www.weka.net.nz) is a great source of advice and contacts for anyone who needs assistance or is helping to care for others. We work in partnership with the Federation of Disability Information Centres to provide services throughout New Zealand.”
