Read our website accessibility statement
At Enable New Zealand, we're passionate about making our website work for everyone. We know how important it is that people can access the disability information they need, regardless of how they browse the web.
What we're doing to support accessibility
We're committed to accessibility through:
Providing information in different formats when you ask.
Making accessibility a core part of our policies and planning.
Training our team so they understand accessibility inside and out.
Regularly checking our website for issues and fixing them as we find them.
Listening and responding when you tell us about problems.
Working hard to meet the NZ Government Web Standards.
Meeting the NZ Government Web Standards
Our website standards are defined by the NZ Government Web Standards. The Web Accessibility Standard requires meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and this is the level we’re working towards.
You can read more about these standards here:
How we test our website
We do a lot of work on the accessibility of our website:
Our team runs automated checks every fortnight using axe-core to scan all our pages
We test with automated tools during development and whenever we add new features
We manually review selected pages against WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria to catch the issues that automated checks can’t see
We test selected pages using assistive technologies
We also engage independent accessibility audits to get an expert outside perspective. Our next assessment is in September 2025 and will be conducted by Access Advisors.
Issues we're working on
We believe in being upfront about where we can do better. Right now, we know about these accessibility issues:
On pages with multiple embedded Google Maps, some labels are duplicated
Our contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA v2 for spam protection, which can create barriers for some users
As we discover other issues, we'll add them to this list so you know what we’re working on. If you experience a barrier when using our site, please let us know so we can add it here.
