Vision Assistive Technology


Occupational therapists, optometrists and service coordinators can apply to be vision assistive technology assessors.

The Vision Assistive Technology (VAT) category covers the following:

  • Equipment to support the needs of a person who is blind, deafblind or who has a vision impairment.

For example:

  • monoculars and magnifier

  • specialised computer hardware and software

  • braillers.

Who is eligible?

The following health professionals can apply for accreditation:

  • Occupational Therapist employed in a Low Vision Clinic

  • optometrist

  • service coordinator with a specialist service provider.
