Wheeled Mobility & Postural Management Level 1

Accreditation in Wheeled Mobility & Postural Management Level 1 (WMPM L1) allows you to provide advice and recommendations for ‘standard’ equipment to meet people’s essential mobility and postural needs.
The credential covers these types of equipment:
standard, manual wheelchairs – self-or-attendant-propelled (including paediatric and bariatric)
attendant propelled buggies
standard joysticks for power wheelchairs
tilt and/or recline or power tilt functions
cushions for pelvic positioning, pressure care, general trunk support
static seating solutions (indoor high-low bases for buggies, car seats etc.).
There is an optional module for endorsement in night-time positioning and lying equipment.

Who is eligible?
These health professionals can apply for this credential:
occupational therapists (OT)
physiotherapists (PT).

Learning and development programme
You must complete a learning and development programme through Seating to Go, the approved provider.

EMS advisor task signoff
The sign off of any WMPM level one tasks cannot be completed through a wheeled mobility and postural management (WMPM) outreach clinic.
Where to start?
You will need to:
register in EMS Assessor Online and complete the online Core Module (if not already done)
apply for provisional accreditation in WMPM level 1 in EMS Assessor Online.
When you have completed all the requirements, you can apply for the credential in EMS Assessor Online.
When does this accreditation expire?
