Enable launches refreshed website to improve user experience

Enable is proud to announce the launch of its newly updated website—designed to make it easier than ever for assessors, suppliers, our disability and injured community, and anyone in New Zealand to find the information they need about disability and injury equipment and modification processes in Aotearoa.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in Enable’s commitment to delivering a more intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly digital experience.

A move from ‘organic’ to ‘intentional’

The previous website had grown organically over time, which meant it wasn’t always easy to navigate. Feedback from users highlighted that it often took “too many clicks” to find key information.

This refresh wasn’t just based on what we thought would work—it was shaped by real-world insights. We gathered feedback from assessors, suppliers, and clients to understand how they actually use the site. Through testing and ongoing feedback, we ensured the changes reflect the needs and behaviours of the people who rely on Enable every day. That research-driven approach helped us prioritise what matters most to our users.

Built to be useful

Over the past year, Enable has worked hard to address this. While much of the core content remains the same, the site now features a refreshed layout and streamlined navigation that puts users first.

Key improvements include:

  • A modernised layout with improved accessibility and helpful ‘related pages’ links

  • A restructured menu that organises content by audience, making it easier for new visitors to find their way

  • A new ‘Access Support’ section to help our community, their support people and clinicians understand Enable-supported services

  • An Assessor Education Centre to support learning and development

The first step

This launch is just the beginning. Enable is committed to continuously improving the website to ensure it remains a helpful, up-to-date resource for everyone who uses it.

We encourage all visitors to explore the site and share any feedback you have with us at enable.co.nz/contact-us/feedback.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to this project—especially the occupational therapists, disabled people, and others who gave feedback that has helped shape our new site.
