Multi-factor authentication for the Hire app
Setting up MFA for Hire
Use this guide to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Enable NZ Hire. Follow the steps in order and keep your phone with you during setup. When asked to choose an authenticator method, we recommend that you use Microsoft Authenticator and ignore OneAuth.

1
Install Microsoft Authenticator
On your mobile device, open the App Store or Google Play Store and install Microsoft Authenticator. (Enable recommends that you use Microsoft Authenticator for this MFA setup and ignore the option to set up OneAuth).
Once installed, open the app so it is ready for setup.

Sign in to Enable NZ Hire and access MFA settings
Open Enable NZ Hire and enter your usual login details.
Once logged in, select your profile icon in the top right corner.

In the Account page that opens, select “Multi-Factor Authentication” under Security on the left-hand side.
In the new page that opens, select "Set up Now" under "OTP Authenticator".

Scan the QR code and verify
Using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, open the QR code scanner using one of these methods:
select the + button and choose "Other account"
or select the QR code button.

Confirm setup
A pop-up will appear saying "You're trying to perform a sensitive operation. Click here to verify yourself."
Select the "Click here" text.
Enter your Hire password and select "Confirm password".
You will then receive a confirmation email that your MFA setup is complete.
-
Finished!
Next time you sign in, enter your username and password, then the code (or “OTP” - one-time password) from your Authenticator app.
Troubleshooting
If you have trouble scanning the QR code, make sure Microsoft Authenticator is installed and open on your phone, and that your camera is working. Ignore the option to set up OneAuth. If setup still does not complete, contact the Enable NZ support team.
